5 quotes that inspire me

Everyone needs a motto in life! Something to remember and inspire them when they’re close to giving in. Something to keep them going. These are 5 mottos I rely on when I’m in such a situation!

1.”Just keeps swimming.” -Dory

a quote to inspire you, picturing Dory and Nemo, fishes from the movie Finding Nemo, in the ocean and the quote "just keep swimming".

A simple quote from the movie Finding Nemo, I love it because it’s a small short reminder that even a child could understand. One that tells you to keep moving, even in the darker, more difficult times. Whether it be writer’s block, or crushing self defeat. Keep going. I always recall Dory’s tone as she says this, and it makes me feel like a kid again! Would highly recommend watching this wonderful movie.

    2. “It’s always darkest before the dawn.”

This proverb inspires me because when I’m in a rut, it tells me that things are going to turn around sooner or later, and for the better always. That’s a beautiful thing to hold onto, because hope will lift you higher than pessimism ever will while you’re alive.

    3. “If you work for it, it might or might not happen. But if you don’t work for it, it will never happen.”

A quote of my own, it references lessons I’ve read everywhere almost. This quote not only inspires me but also defeats procrastination. Working does not guarantee results, but not working does guarantee failure! The point is to live with no regrets, and to move on once every possible choice in the direction of your dream has been made and yet the dream has failed you.

    4. “There is no one exam in life that determines whether you will be successful or not. That is only dependent on your integrity in your work, your persistence, and your mentality.”

Another quote of my own. As a student, this resonates deeply with me, especially before exams or during results. Life goes a long way beyond school and college. Success in academia might capture your potential (or it might fail to do so, depending on how hard you’ve worked), but hard work and self belief will never fail you.

    5. “Obsession beats talent.” -Michael Jordan

Love your work, and be tenacious in doing it. Working hard, you will ALWAYS be better off than someone who is a genius or a natural athlete, or just naturally better at your job than you are. Because lessons learnt the hard way stick around better. And if obsession beats talent, failure is regularized. Until that happens, you are standing completely still, clinging to success that will never come until you have failed enough times.

Those are 5 quotes I have come to love. There are so many more, and I’m likely to make a part 2 of these beautiful sayings since these are mostly based on getting through a tough time at work or life in general. Here’s a bonus inspirational quote from Roger Federer, the lawn tennis legend: The best in the world are not the best because they win every point. It’s because they lose again and again and have learned how to deal with it.
